About Us
Two Counties, One Vision, One Inspiring Woman.
While 20 miles separate McLennan and Limestone Counties, but the ambition of our students is the same. The BAH! exists to ensure that "where you're from" is just the starting line, not a barrier. Barbara’s legacy of devotion, energetic and kind-heartedness is matchless when it comes to her resolve concerning her community and that which she loves is unrivaled. Barbara believed in the power of “showing up” for her neighbors. This scholarship is our way of keeping her hand extended to the next generation.
Today, our students at McLennan and Limestone face a gap of their own. They have ambition, but the rising costs of tuition and supplies often act as a toll they cannot afford to pay. We created The Barbara Ann Horton Scholarship to be the bridge that carries them over. We are a family-run fund, dedicated to 100% transparency. Every dollar raised goes directly toward the tuition and fees of our local seniors.
When you support this scholarship, you aren't just donating to a fund; you are helping a Panther and a Black Cat cross over into their future. You are helping us prove that while our mascots may differ, our commitment to our children is the same
As a result, we support students who have the drive but need the resources. We provide the community’s vote of confidence in their success. This scholarship is a rare “neutral ground” where both Mart and Mexia communities and schools come together to cheer for the young adults. While our current goal is $1000.00 each, we are working toward a future where every recipient receives a $1,500.00 "head start" on their college or trade school journey. We created BAH! so you could join us in helping our local students cross the bridge to their future.
Barbara’s life was the blueprint. This scholarship is the structure. And with your help, our students are the legacies that will walk across it.
Thank you for being a bridge-builder with us.
With gratitude,
The TPT~GBCG Board of Directors Founder of: The Barbara Ann Horton Scholarship
